LoneBuddy is designed so that core safety information such as Buddy contacts, profiles and safety logs is kept on your device rather than in a LoneBuddy cloud account. This policy also explains the limited information that may be processed when you use this website or third-party services such as Google Play.
1. Who we are

2. Information handled by the app
The app may use information you provide or permit, including Buddy contact details, safety profiles, check-in information, location for relevant safety functions, and local safety logs. LoneBuddy is designed to keep this core safety information on your device rather than in a LoneBuddy-operated cloud database.
3. Location
LoneBuddy does not continuously track your location as a general background service. Location may be used when relevant safety features require it, including SOS or active-alert functionality. Some Premium safety features can send updated location information during an active alert.
4. SMS and mobile services
Buddy alerts use standard SMS functionality. Sending and delivery require compatible device permissions and cellular/SMS service. Your mobile network provider may process message and network information under its own terms and privacy notice.
5. Website analytics
This website uses Google Analytics only after you choose to accept analytics cookies/technologies. If you reject or do not accept analytics, the site is designed not to enable that optional analytics measurement. Google may process analytics information under its own privacy terms.
6. Google Play and subscriptions
Downloads, purchases and subscriptions are handled through Google Play. Google may process account, device, payment and transaction information independently under Google's own terms and privacy policies. LoneBuddy does not receive your full payment-card details from Google Play.
7. Why information may be used
Information may be used where necessary to provide app functionality, respond to support enquiries, maintain security and reliability, comply with legal obligations, and—where you have consented—measure website use.
8. Retention and security
Local app information remains subject to your device, app settings and deletion behaviour. Any information you send directly to LoneBuddy for support will be retained only as reasonably necessary for the enquiry, record-keeping, security or legal requirements.
